When Quitting Is A Good Thing

Sometimes you just need to walk away. It doesn’t mean you failed. Maybe you tried your hardest but it just wasn’t working or it wasn’t making you happy. It could be a job, a marriage, a friendship, a goal, or an organization which doesn’t align with your values or principles. The act of quitting can be as freeing as wind at your back and as exhilarating as doing a happy dance. Quitting can also be removing forms of negativity from your life. It can mean stop listening, watching, and reading anything that promotes hate, fear, and divisiveness.
I’ll leave you with this quote by Seth Godin in his book, The Dip: A Little Book That Teaches You When to Quit (and When to Stick). He says, “Winners do quit all the time. They just quit the right stuff at the right time.”
