We want to believe we’re in total control of our lives. The reality is there are many things not up to us. We can’t make things happen just because we want them to. We can’t fix everything that goes wrong. And we often have little or no power over what others do. Our friends and families must figure it out on their own, without our interference or help. To be blunt, sometimes it sucks when things are out of our control.
None of us are meant to be Super Man or Super Woman. We stumble and fall. We rely on each other at times. Maybe trying to be in total control makes us think we are super human. And when it doesn’t work out that way, we are disappointed and too hard on ourselves. Give yourself permission to let go. I have a sweet figurine at home. It is an angel holding a sign which says: Let go and let God. Good advice for us all. Do you agree? Comment if you have something to add.
