Yes, that’s right. I fired my cable company today. They
priced themselves out of a job. The cost of services has doubled in five years! I noticed on a bill from 2010, they charged a flat fee for TV cable and internet service, which was around $60. Now, their billing includes Starter TV, Standard TV, Variety Pass, The Guide, HD Set-Top Box, and Broadcast TV Surcharge. Next year, they plan to charge a rental for two extra converter boxes that they made me get!
I have replaced the cable with 3 antennas, which picks up 34 channels. To get additional channels and to stream movies, I have Roku. I started a subscription for Hulu and already subscribe to Netflix for a fraction of the cost of cable service.
This may not be the answer for you, but it works for me.
