I love the lyrics to a Willie Nelson song.
Here’s the first stanza:
The postman delivered
A “past due” bill notice
The alarm clock rang two hours late
The garbage man left all the trash
On the sidewalk
And the hinges fell off our front gate
And this morning at breakfast
I spilled all the coffee
And I opened the door on my knee
But the last thing I needed
The first thing this morning
Was to have you walk out on me
You’ve had that kind of morning, haven’t you? Nothing seems to go right. Everything sucks. You say things like “What else can go wrong?” Ever have a private little pity party? I have. Guess what? Life goes on and things do get better. My day didn’t start out so great, but tomorrow will be better, I’m sure. So, look on the positive side. There are so many terrible things happening in the world, that our little troubles seem petty. Problems are not wanted or needed, but they make us humble. So look for the sunshine behind the dark cloud.
